Enhancing Culturally Safe and Respectful Care in an Indigenous Setting

At Allegiance, we understand that systemic racism can significantly impact the healthcare experiences of Indigenous peoples and people of colour (BIPOC) communities. Our mission is to empower Indigenous families to receive culturally safe and respectful care in the comfort of their own homes.

Culturally Safe and Trauma-Informed Care:

Our healthcare professionals are trained in trauma-informed care, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all clients. We believe that keeping families together is essential to healing, which is why we provide holistic care that combines traditional and Western medical practices.

Specialized Indigenous Health Care:

Historical trauma has led to a lack of trust and limited access to healthcare services for Indigenous communities. As specialists in Indigenous health care, we are dedicated to safeguarding the language, practices, culture, and ways of knowing in the provision of healthcare.

Supporting Families at Home:

We provide one-to-one palliative care for Indigenous clients who have experienced trauma in hospital settings. Our care model is designed to support families in their own homes, where they feel safe and surrounded by loved ones.

Advocating for Client’s Rights:

We help clients navigate the healthcare system and advocate for their rights and wishes to be heard. Our goal is to empower families to take control of their healthcare journey and make informed decisions about their care.
